Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is one of the premier institutions for technical education in Bangalore. The college is a part of the renowned Dayananda Sagar Institutions that have been imparting education in all major specialized courses through its various colleges for almost half a century now. The college was established in the year 1979 by Late Sri R Dayananda Sagar. Today the college is under the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peetha Education Trust. It is located on a hillock in Kumaraswamy Layout in South-Central Bangalore, Karnataka.
The college is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. It is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU),Belgaum. The college has gained accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.

Campus
Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering has an extensive campus that spreads over 28 acres of lush green land and offers a picturesque view. One of the finest campuses in Bangalore, it has landscaped gardens. The pathways are lined with trees and there are student rest places. Apart from the grand college buildings, the huge campus has an amphitheatre, large parking space, play grounds, library, canteens and cafeterias. There is also an old temple of Lord Shiva, the Shivage Malleshwara Temple within the campus perimeter.
The campus is fully Wi-Fi empowered and is among the first educational institutes to introduce Wi-Fi in their campus.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E)
To be eligible for admission to the first year of under graduate course in Engineering & Technology a candidate must have passed the two-year Pre-University Examination (Science) conducted by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board or 10+2 of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Information Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 45% marks in the optional subjects, or those who have passed any other examinations recognised by the University as equivalent thereon.
B.Sc. graduates are eligible for admission to First Year B.E. course if they have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate of subjects – Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Physics, Mathematics & Electronics or Physics, Mathematics & Computer Science.
Infrastructure and Facilities
Despite the wide array of disciplines, every department has the latest technology and infrastructure painstakingly built over a period of 34 years. Research is greatly cherished in the college across all courses. The laboratories and pedagogy support and promote research and lateral thinking.
The library on campus is well-stocked with over 49,000 volumes of literature pertaining to every field and discipline of study in engineering. The library also houses a digital collection and a book bank for students. A massive auditorium that can seat 1200 students comfortably hosts numerous congregations of thinkers and speakers. A co-operative society, canteen and seminar hall round up the facilities at Bangalore Institute of Technology.
Placements:
It’s the best part of this college. More than 100% placement for all branches is guaranteed. More IT companies than the core ones visit the campus, so CS, IS and ECE branches gets more salaries which is 4.5 – 5 lakh on an average. IBM, Wipro & Accenture are the major recruiters for these branches. Big MNCs like Microsoft & Texas Instruments also took a few students offering an amazing package of 10 to 12 Lakhs. Mechanical, Civil, IM and other branches gets average 3.5 lakh package and their major recruiters are Bosch & L&T.
