Eligibility

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed M.D. /DNB Degree from any University recognized equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India

D.M. Subject

Cardiology, Clinical Immunology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Neurology: M.D./DNB Degree in General Medicine /Pediatrics of this Institute or any other Institute/University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India

Medical Oncology: M.D/DNB Degree in Medicine / Pediatrics /Radiotherapy of this Institute or any other Institute/University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India

Neonatology/Pediatric Critical Care: M.D/DNB Degree in Pediatrics of this Institute or any other Institute/University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India

M.Ch Subject

Cardio Thoracic Vascular Surgery, Neuro-Surgery, Urology, Surgical Gastroenterology, Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery: MS/DNB Degree in General Surgery of this Institute or any other Institute/University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India

Surgical Oncology: MS/DNB Degree in General Surgery /Obstetrics & Gynecology/Otolaryngology (ENT)/ Orthopedic Surgery of this Institute or any other Institute/University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India

Duration of the Course: 3 Years

Method of Selection

a) For D.M. Course the Computer Based Test (CBT) /online examination will consist of 100 MCQs in the concerned specialty and related fields

The duration of the examination will be 1½ hours

b) For M.Ch Course the Computer Based Test (CBT) / online examination will consist of 100 MCQs in the concerned specialty and related fields

All Questions will be of one best / correct response type having four alternatives

For every incorrect response marked as correct one mark will be deducted. The duration of the test is one and half hours

Each answer with correct response will be given four marks. Negative marks will be given. For every incorrect response marked as correct one mark will be deducted

Minimum of 50% marks in the Entrance Examination will be required for the candidate to be eligible for counseling

The personal counseling carry no marks

Questions that are answered and Marked for Review will be considered as Answered

The response of the candidate for a question(s), on click of “submit button” before closing of Examination shall be considered as the response chosen by the candidate or in other words, “If a question is answered and marked for review, your answer for that question will be considered in the evaluation”

Mode of Entrance Exam: Online based distributed object systems

Fee Structure: The following fees (provisional, subject to revision) will be payable by each candidate at the time of admission

M.Ch / D.M Courses

Admission Fees (One time payment) – Rs.3000/-

Academic Fees (Annual) – Rs.2100/-

Learning Resource Fee (One time payment) – Rs.15000/-

*Fee structure are liable for change based on the orders issued by the Govt./Institute and will be applicable

Online Registration / Entrance Examination Fees

DM/M.Ch Course – INR 1500/-

A candidates is allowed to submit application for One Course Only

Mode of Payment: Only through Net Banking/Credit Card / Debit Card

Note: The candidate is advised to read the Prospectus and Help Manual before starting online registration and ensure that no column is left blank Request for rectification of any error committed in the application will not be considered

A new application has to be submitted with the prescribed fees

How to Apply JIPMER 2017

Interested candidates are required to download the prescribed application form along with Hall Ticket (for entrance exam) from the Institute’s official website www.jipmer.edu

The prescribed fee should be paid in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of Accounts Officer, JIPMER payable at Puducherry

The duly filled in and completed application form along with all requisite enclosure documents and demand draft should be sent to the Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Dhanvantri Nagar, Puducherry-605006

Submission of Application: Through On-Line Process Only

Mode of Payment: Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card

i) Online Application User Interface provided in the Annexure II

ii) Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances

iii) Candidate cannot apply for more than two courses

iv) Candidate need NOT be sent hard copy of the application to this office

No Late Entry will be permitted under any circumstances beyond 09.30 AM. Candidates will be permitted to leave the hall only at 11.30 AM
