This represents a 127% increase from the 31,185 seats available before 2014. Who Can Apply For MD MS Admission In India?

All Indian students, NRIs, and international students who have completed their MBBS in India or abroad, along with a one-year internship, and have also qualified for NEET-PG, are eligible to apply for MD/MS admission.

Eligibility Criteria Of MD/MS in India

Students who are eager to pursue a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Master of Surgery (MS) from Indian medical colleges can secure admission only through NEET-PG. NEET-PG plays a crucial role in the MD/MS admission process. Aspiring postgraduate students must meet the eligibility criteria for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test to be eligible for the NEET-PG entrance exam.

Eligibility Criteria For All India Quota 50% Seats

According to NEET-PG guidelines, candidates seeking admission to MD/MS programs under the All India Quota (AIQ) of 50% seats must meet the following criteria.

According to NEET PG guidelines, applicants from Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for the 50% All India quota seats. However, they can apply for these seats if the Government of India has nominated them under the Central Pool Quota (CPQ) for pursuing MBBS at a medical college in Jammu and Kashmir.

Nominated candidates must submit an affidavit signed by an official, confirming that they have been nominated by the Government of India for the AIQ 50% seats.

State postgraduate medical counseling is conducted for 50% of the seats in all government and private medical colleges. Only domicile students of the state are eligible for government MD/MS seats.
